Mark: Midgaard has its own Pet mechanism not yet implemented. Pets were part of the Diku tradition.

Adara/Cinya: That would be great honestly. I can level my pup so much faster by taking him to Midgaard.

Mark: Note though that leveling by itself is incomplete in Petland. Pets slowly gain weight and height over time - the grow from puppies to adult dogs. Their strength, damroll and other attributes are partly influenced by weight. So, leveling is only part of the equation for maximizing Pet abilities.

Mark: So, at minimum, Worn on Body, Worn on Head, Worn on Feet, Worn Around Neck.

The easiest implementation is to simply let them wear anything Players can wear - including getting Tattooed. Players can then decide/imagine the chihuahua is wearing a chihuahua-sized breastplate, or not, as they'd rather.
