I have recently moved to Dubai in the Middle East. I find I am unable to play TC because the Java applet refuses to load. In the centre of the screen it says "exception. java lang. class not found". Can anybody please shed any light on what I can do?

Hi Catherine:
Were you able to delete and re-load the JRE? Did that help?
If not, try this. Open the "Java Console", copy the complete error message, and email it to me. That might show us more clues.
Another question: are you able to open any sites which contain Java applets? If no, the problem is definitely with your JRE install. Try this site and see what happens: http://www.falstad.com/fourier/
Good luck!

Many thanks for the invaluable help, Mark. I now have a broadband connection (such luxury!!) and was able to reload the JRE effortlessly this time, though on dial up it still wouldn't reload despite two attempts each taking an hour and a half!
Good to be back in TC. See you in the city.
