What do the merchants buy?
There are quite a number of automated (NPC) merchant characters
in the shops or wandering around the city. Over 200, in fact,
as this is written, with more coming.
The main thing to remember about this crowd is that they're not
all the same. They sell different things, and, sensibly enough,
they buy different things too.
Many merchants will buy items similar to the ones they sell. So,
a merchant who sells shoes is likely to buy shoes. Or, a merchant
who sells daggers is likely to buy daggers.
But, it's worth noting that many merchants buy nothing at all. Others
buy nearly anything. Really depends on the merchant.
Best way to find out if a merchant will buy an item is via the
Value
command. Asking a merchant to value an item will cause the merchant
to tell you whether that merchant buys that item or not.
Lastly, you should note that different merchants charge different
prices for the same Items. It's likely that the merchants who charge
more for an Item will pay less to buy it from you. So, explore, and
ask experienced characters for advice.
