TriadCity Message of the Day
2007-10-27

A new player applet has been uploaded, which fixes the problem many of us have seen when using Java version 6.x.

The problem was that the Health, Inventory and other tabs would stick intermittently, spewing blecchy error messages into the Java log, and generally being a nuisance.

The fix isn't really a fix, it just turns off the little teeny ad graphics that appeared on many of the tabs. One day we'll figure out how to restore them, but, for now, it's not important.

Please note that we've tested happily with Java 1.6.0_02 and 1.6.0_03. However, we haven't tested with earlier versions, and we doubt that earlier versions will be happy. If you experience problems, update to the latest and greatest, and all should be well.

Also, please note that we haven't tested with a Mac yet, 'cause we haven't got one. We really, really want one. Or two. Macs are cool. We just can't afford it this week. Anyway if somebody with a Mac would please let us know whether it works or not, we'll be grateful.

Back to the current MOTD index.

"The Aristotelian categories of beginning, middle and end, it turns out, are based on fixed texts. Think of all the arguments about coherence and perfection of artistic form that depend on these Aristotelian coordinates."
