TriadCity Message of the Day
2025-02-17
The Vampire Theater in the NorthEastern Third is open for adventuring.
Located a few steps from the southeastern corner of Black Plaza, the theater is an abandoned, decrepit, falling-down old shell which once upon a time had been a vibrant Art Deco masterpiece, patronized by the rich, the famous, and the everyday alike. Now infested by dozens, perhaps hundreds of vampires, the building is ground zero for Vampire Hunters and their allies.
Some lore, gathered from Adventurer articles and interviews with Vampire Hunter loremasters:
- The vamps there are the Hollywood variety. They sleep in daylight, prowl at night. If you pay attention to the time, you can walk through most of the building without being attacked. Do not, however, come unarmed.
- Vampires are completely immune to ordinary weapons. You must Wield a wooden stake or other specialized weapon. Shops selling stakes of varying quality can be found in all three Thirds — and there are other weapons to be found throughout the City which vampires fear.
- Every vamp there is an "adaptive opponent". This means their attributes and skills are tweaked at fight time to give you the advantage, while making the fights exciting and potentially unpredictable. You CAN be killed by these opponents. But, you probably won't be. Keep the risk in mind.
- Still, for safety's sake, we want to you to be level 10 or higher before going there. The entrance will prevent anyone below level 10 from going inside.
Remember, in TriadCity death is permanent. It's risky to fight anything. As far as risks go, this one is pretty interesting.
