Hi there. I like this game, I really do, but my second character just died, barely a month after I lost the first one. Sylvie’s death was my fault, I never should’ve tried swatting a fly in Black Plaza while a foreman was leading his work gang through. But now, Hyacinth. My precious ranger/thief, who showed such promise and was just over 1000 exp away from Level 13. She was just wandering around Southern and decided to blow off some steam in Angry Birds. She’d been honing her combat skills by kicking the crap out of deathsuckers so figured she’d be fine. She was making short work of one of Steve King’s odious tweets when a cop bot swooped in and obliterated her. WTF? It’s a friggin simulation, what the hell’s a cop bot doing in there anyway? The whole point of the thing is to kill tweets, why is a cop bot even necessary? All my and Hyacinth’s hard work gone in seconds. At least she rememvered to file a will this time, (learning from Sylvie’s mistake), so my relatively new char Crane inherited her dinars. Sorry to rant, I’m very much in the anger phase of grief right now, but that death is just pissing me off. Really wish there was something for the ghosts of characters to do besides wandering through Limbo, that seems such a waste IMO. I know the permanency of death is a key part of TC, but cououldn’t there at least be some sort of afterlife? Maybe Sylvie and Hyacinth could try and guide newbies from beyond the grave, keeping them out of jail and treacherous simulations? Just a thought. Meanwhile, in lieu of flowers, please make donations in Hyacinth’s memory to the Triad City Preservation Corps and the United Society for Elvish Relief and Protection. (USERP) Neither organization exists, yet, but Hyacinth felt very strongly about preserving TC’s wild places and protecting their refugee populations.
