TriadCity Character
Although I've passed away from the city, I've been thinking. In fact, that's all I've been doing ; ). I have a few suggestions for new Roles that could someday become part of TC:

-Monster (which allows training in the more savage weapons, such as teeth, claws, stings, etc.) and allows for statistics to increase without items, but dissallows some item slots. This is for those less humanoid characters who still wish to hold their own in combat.

-The Tamer, who can incapacitate certain types of enemy and domesticate them, creating loyal pets.

-The Philosopher, Who is somehow rewarded or spiffed for exploring or refuting new philosophical approaches or ideas in TC, perhaps having their outlook be somewhat dependent on the Third in which they are trained (for example, a NE philosopher would tend to preach the values of personal freedom, even at the expense of equality)

-Monks, who are masters of meditation, can practice some rudimentary supernatural feats, seek truth and justice, and of course are formidable martial artists, particularly unarmed.

-The Spy, who is an adept con-person, able to sneak, and hide, but also to disguise themswlves and conceal their alignment (perhaps even from the temple wolves...) They would serve as the eyes and ears of a Third that wishes to keep an eye on its rivals.

-The Technomancer, (or Techie, for the less dramatically inclined who can use CityNet terminals to locate characters, open and close doors, disable or redirect trains for short periods, alter the light settings in certain rooms, see through the eyes of surveillance robots, control robots such as the Gardeners and Janitors, attempt to clear the names of the guilty from CrimeNet, and perhaps even attempt to increase their account balance using less-than-scrupulous means?

-Religious Roles, such as Preacher or Priest, Heirophant, Crusader, etc... whp have access to certain types of magic not available to common conjurers but also gain skills based on the strength of their faith, such as the ability to carry on a battle longer and against tougher odds when fighting for their beliefs, gain points for converting others to their vocation (this could be a major part of, say, the preacher-type role), the ability to tend to the iunjuries of others, and perhaps other ablities specific to their vocation.

That's all we have for now, please let us know your ideas and suggestions!
