More sophisticated way of following?  XML

I was thinking about how nice it would be to follow someone, but be able to use sneak and hide commands, too. On my explorations I noticed that following certain NPC's can be very beneficial. However, I would like to have a looser bind to the person I follow. (And don't you dare to call me a stalker...!!! I had a very good reason to find out where this person lives, and remain unseen.)

So, I was thinking about a new skill, call it prowling, stalking, herding, or whatever, but which would require good tracking skills in order to keep the bond for one or two rooms away, as well as good quality hiding and sneaking. Maybe it would enable being in a group and using hide and sneak, which would be very good in the Tree of Wealth, in order to stay close to each other all the time. Maybe only the leader of the group would need this skill?

But, what do you think? Would it be a necessary thing to have?

Sounds like a good plan to me.

how about "shadow"?

I like both ideas:

A way of following normally, except automatically using sneak to change rooms, and hide right away upon entering a new room. This command could be called "tail", "shadow" or "stalk" with equal accuracy.

Now the skill where you actually stay one step BEHIND the target- that's a doozy. That one should perhaps be its own learnable skill requiring hide, sneak and track, or something, and be at a later level. Would be a super cool skill, very scary. Make me paranoid about closing my door behind me right away ; )

I like all those ideas. I need a more effective way of thieving even with 20-22 dexterity(depending on if I'm holding my orb or not.
