How about a skill that allows you to gauge how likely you are to be able to learn a new skill.

The syntax could be something like "ponder (skill name) (teacher)", and depending on your skill at pondering, it would give you an estimate of vary accuracy about your chances.

For instance, a 5% or less chance would produce the message "That skill is far beyond you right now.", up to 20% would produce "You feel you could figure it out with plenty of patience", between 20% and 50% produces "You should pick it up with a little effort"

50% to 80% gives a message like "You feel comfortable with this subject, it should be no problem."

and 80%+ should produce "Piece of cake! You'll be a master in no time."

This skill would be useful given how precious practices are, and how currently the only way to get a feel for how much intelligence is needed to learn is to waste many many practices trying to see the average success rate.

Most players would probably be willing to invest practices in a skill that allows them to predict learning success, and it is also realistic, since in real life it is simple enough for people to look into a new skill and estimate how suited they are to learn it.

Having recently wasted quite a few practices on a skill I was unable to learn, I have to agree wholeheartedly on this one. It would be nice to get a good idea how hard a skill will be to learn before I try and learn it.
