s

Purpose: move to the room south of you.
Synonyms: south

SYNTAX EXAMPLES
1. s 1. s
2. south 2. south

USE:

  1. Use East to leave the room you're currently in, and enter the one directly south of you.
  2. Use form two if you enjoy typing.

Many conditions which may prevent you from moving as you desire. For instance, there could be no room in this direction; or there could be a closed door in the way. More ominously, you may be too weak to move; or you could be paralyzed; or you could be blinded and unable to find your way. The Game channel will inform you of the outcome of your command.

Moving requires energy. If you do move successfully, you'll probably see your supply of available energy become diminished by some quantity. How much depends on where you're moving to; how much weight you're carrying; and other factors. Climbing a mountain carrying 200 pounds will require more energy than walking down a city street empty handed.

Note that S is equivalent to "move south" You can use the longer equivalent if you like, but "s" is shorter.

"... postmodernist fiction also reflects the disruption of [the] landscape by twentieth-century war. War in our century has forced us to rethink the received categories of space, conceptual as well as geographical space; it has taught us to think in terms of zone. The lexicon of war is one of the sources of the term "zone," and certainly the postmodernists have borrowed many of the characteristics of their zone from the zones of military discourse - the war zone, the occupied zone, the demilitarized zone."
